Jo, a minister, received her Master's of Christian Education from Associated Mennonite biblical Seminary, Elkhart. She was a professor of Christian Education in Indonesia, was active in women's ministries throughout her life, and faithfully supported her husband's ministry.

Visitation was held at Yoder-Kulp Funeral Home, Goshen, IN with burial in Violett Cemetery, Goshen, IN.

She was born July 2, 1916, in Rockingham County, and was a daughter of the late Walter E. and Della Layman Hartman.

She was a homemaker and a member of Fellowship United Methodist Church near Harrisonburg.

On Oct. 31, 1936, she married Marvin R. "Jake" Terry, who preceded her in death March 21, 2003.

Surviving are a son, Wilbur E. "Two-Gun" Terry and wife, Elsie, of Harrisonburg; a daughter, Judy T. Biller and husband, Harry, of Harrisonburg; two sisters, Ruby Whitelaw of Harrisonburg, and Juanita McMullen and husband, Don, of Harrisonburg; grandchildren, Sgt. Major Norlan "Jake" Biller and wife, Julie, Corinna "Renie" Smith and husband, Jim, Tim Biller and wife, Stephanie, and Todd Biller and wife, Cara; great-grandchildren, Heather Nichole Smith, Jordan Blake Smith, Zachary Tessman, Keara Lea Biller, Jadon Matthew Biller and Jonathan Evan Biller; and great-grandchild, Nevaeh Tessman.

A brother, Floyd D. Hartman, preceded her in death.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.

Tim Biller and Pastor Gerald Martin will conduct a funeral service at 2 p.m. Monday at Fellowship United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Feb. 3, 1921 - April 21, 2012

GOSHEN - Cephas C. Troyer, 91, passed away early Saturday morning, April 21, 2012, at Greencroft Healthcare.

He was born Feb. 3, 1921, in Elkhart County to Christian M. and Elizabeth (Miller) Troyer. He married Mary Jean Birky on June 14, 1958, in Kouts at Hopewell Mennonite Church. She survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Janice (Paul) Beachy of Syracuse; a son, Nevin (Sue) Troyer of Goshen; three stepgrandchildren; seven stepgreat-grandchildren; three adopted grandchildren; and a sister, Wilma (Henry) Herschberger of Goshen.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Amy Bontrager, Ella Miller and Sue Bontrager; and four brothers, Ora D., Lester, Owen and Leroy Troyer.

A farmer and lifetime area resident, Mr. Troyer was a member of Clinton Frame Mennonite Church. He enjoyed traveling, reading and woodworking.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 9 to 9:45 a.m. Wednesday at Clinton Frame Mennonite Church, Goshen.

A 10 a.m. Wednesday funeral service will be conducted at the church with Pastors Terry Diener and Danny Yoder officiating. Burial will follow in Clinton Frame Cemetery.

Troyer, Cephas C., 91, of Goshen, Elkhart Co., IN died April 21, 2012 at the same place. He was born February 3, 1921 at Goshen to Christian M. and Elizabeth (Miller) Troyer. On June 14, 1958 at Kouts, IN he was married to Mary Jean Birky, who survives.

GOSHEN - Christian "Chris" Ira Troyer, 101, died Sunday morning at Greencroft Gables Healthcare, where he resided since January 2010.

He was born Jan. 24, 1910 in Middlebury, to Jephtha S. and Ada Mae (Yoder) Troyer. He married Joella G. Murray on Feb. 7, 1937, in Middlebury. She died Feb. 22, 2002.

He worked five years at Rainbow Inn, Shipshewana, before moving to Lockport, N.Y., in 1934, where he worked at Harrison Radiator during World War II on military equipment. In 1944, Chris and Joella moved back to Topeka, where he purchased his first farm. One year later, he purchased a dairy farm on the east side of Lake Wawasee. Chris spent many years crop farming with a large dairy herd. He so enjoyed spending time on that farm.

He was past member of Maple Grove Mennonite Church, Topeka, and Wawasee Lakeside Chapel, Syracuse, and currently a member of College Mennonite Church, Goshen.

Chris was an active bowler, avid Chicago Cubs fan, enjoyed his rose garden and treasured his family and friends. Chris and his wife, Joella, started spending winters in Sarasota, Fla., in 1974. They moved to their home in Greencroft Manor IV in l994.

He is survived by a son, Philip (Elizabeth) Troyer of Spring Grove, Ill.; a daughter, Sally (Ernest L.) Miller of Middlebury; a daughter-in-law, Marilyn Troyer of Chicago Ill.; 12 grandchildren, Jacinda Biro, Jolinda Jaques, Allison Hulbert, Kacey Troyer, Kamela Harrison, Marcia Chellman, Mark Thomas, Brian Thomas, Karen Kohn, Arthur Joel Troyer, Sherry Crisp and Sharon Moreno; 19 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Irma Troyer of Goshen.

He was preceeded in death by a son; Arthur Troyer, on Jan. 18, 2004; four brothers, Mahlon, Arthur, Edwin and Raymond Troyer; and five sisters, Elva Stutzman, Nora Bender, Ruby Leichty, Elsie Birky and Wilma Troyer.

A private burial will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery, Topeka, prior to public visitation and memorial service.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday at Yoder Culp Funeral Home, Goshen, where a 4:30 p.m. memorial service will be conducted.

Memorials may be made to the Elmer and Lydia Murray Scholarship Fund at Goshen College or Heifer International.

Troyer, Christian Ira, 101, of Goshen, Elkhart Co., IN died January 8, 2012 at the same place. He was born January 24, 1910 at Middlebury, Indiana to Jephtha S. and Ada Mae (Yoder) Troyer. On February 7, 1937 at Middlebury, Indiana he was married to Joella G. Murray. She died February 22, 2002.

Surviving are children, Philip (Elizabeth) Troyer; Sally (Ernest L.) MIller; and Marilyn Troyer (daughter-in-law); 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Irma Troyer.

A son, Arthur; brothers: Mahlon, Arthur, Edwin, and Raymond, and sisters: Elva Stutzman, Nora Bender, Ruby Leichty, Elsie Birky, and Wilma Troyer preceded him in death.

SARASOTA, Fla. - Dana Orion Troyer died Jan. 25, 2012, in Sarasota, after a brief illness.

He was born July 12, 1920, in Chicago, the second son to George C. Troyer M.D. and Kathryn Sommers Troyer. His parents answered a call to be medical missionaries in Dhamtari, India, in 1923. Dana was 5 when he and his 7-year-old brother went to British boarding school in Darjeeling in the Himalayas. In 1935, Dana graduated from high school and entered Goshen (Ind.) College at age 15. Completing medical school at Northwestern University in 1944, Dana had internship training in Akron and then returned to Dhamtari in response to a call from the Mission Board.

He and Verna Burkholder had met at Goshen College and corresponded until their marriage in 1947 in India. Verna had been teaching music and English at Hesston College. They returned from India in 1949 to enable Dana to complete residency training in ophthalmology in New Orleans and at the University of Chicago. He worked for three years at an eye clinic in Normal, Ill., moving to Goshen in 1956. He worked as an ophthalmologist in Goshen in solo practice until retirement in 1989. During those years, he served on six-week medical mission trips to India, Ghana and Vietnam. After retirement, he and Verna wintered in Phoenix, Ariz.

Dana was a member of College Mennonite Church and an active member of his Sunday school class. He enjoyed bowling, hunting and golf.

Dana and Verna had three children who survive them, Don (Verna) of Three Rivers, Mich., Robert of Indianapolis and John of Akron, Ohio. They had three grandchildren, Allison (Thomas) Troyer Wiswell of Hasting, Mich., Nathan (Sara) Troyer of Saline, Mich., and Adam Troyer of Grand Rapids, Mich., and one great-grandson, Trenton Troyer. He is also survived by his wife, Mildred, and his brother G. Weldon (Frances) Troyer of Goshen.

He was preceded in death by Verna in 2005, his parents, his brother, Nortell, and his sister, Annabelle Troyer Greaser.

Dana and Mildred Yoder were married in December 2006 and spent winters in Florida.

Dana enjoyed playing piano, singing in the church choir, reading, biking and playing Rook in his later years. He volunteered at Meals on Wheels and Habitat for Humanity. Dana's faith and his call to mission work were of the highest value to him. He was a gifted storyteller, earning him the nickname "Tiger" Troyer in college for his vivid renditions of encounters with the wilds of India. Serious and conscientious in his commitment of excellent care to his patients, he nevertheless always seemed to have a ready joke and shared his ability to perceive the humorous aspect of life.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. and from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, at College Mennonite Church. A private family burial will be after the viewing at Violett Cemetery. The funeral service will be at College Mennonite Church at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 5, with a meal to follow.

Memorial donations may be given to Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary or Goshen College.

Troyer, Dana Orion, 91, of Goshen, IN died January 25, 2012 at Sarasota, Florida. He was born July 12, 1920 at Chicago, Illinois to George C. and Kathryn (Sommers) Troyer. In 1947 he was married to Verna Burkholder, who died in 2005. Second marriage: Dana married Mildred Yoder in Dec. 2006. She is still living.

Troyer, G. Beulah Lehman, of Greenwood, died Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at her home. Beulah was born Aug. 28, 1916 in Lancaster, Pa. to the late John and Irene Lehman. She was a member of Tressler Mennonite Church. Beulah also served on the mission field for fifteen years in Japan and in the states.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, David Emanuel Troyer Sr.; four children, David E. Troyer Jr. of Las Vegas, Nev., Joyce Cain of Greenwood, Jonathan Troyer of Roseville, Calif., and Philip L. Troyer of Lincoln; ten grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 6, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Tressler Mennonite Church, 13371 Wolf Rd, Greenwood, DE 19950. Friends may call two hours prior to service. Interment will be held at Tressler Church Cemetery.

GOSHEN - Carl David Unzicker, 73, died Friday, May 25, 2012, after a brief illness.

He was born Sept. 17, 1938, near Washburn, Ill., to the late Earl and Josephine (Ulrich) Unzicker.

He is survived by his wife, Arleta; two sons, Timothy (Dawn), Roundup, Mont., and Antony (Carol), Goshen; four grandchildren, Joel, Kristen, Gina, Matthew; a brother, Kenneth (Barbara) Unzicker of Normal, Ill.; and two sisters, Carol Prill of Peoria, Ill., and Sharon Visser of San Diego.

He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Joyce.

Carl was baptized at the Linn Mennonite Church near Roanoke, Ill. After farming for several years and doing voluntary service with Mennonite Mission Board, he attended Goshen College. After graduating he taught art in Middlebury and in Colorado, where the Unzickers lived from 1970-2010.

Following retirement, Carl served with Mennonite Disaster Service. With his wife, he helped the Navajos in Arizona build a church. Together they volunteered for three months in 2008 at Mennohof, Shipshewana. Recently he volunteered at the Depot Thrift Store, Goshen.

He especially enjoyed his grandchildren, making sure they had a good time every summer when they visited the Colorado ranch, and playing games with them in Indiana.

Friends may call from 9:15 until the 10:30 a.m. memorial service, Wednesday, May 30, in the Koinonia Room at College Mennonite Church.

Memorial contributions may be given to Mennonite Disaster Services or to Mennonite Central Committee.

Unzicker, Carl David, 73, of Goshen, Elkhart Co., IN died May 25, 2012 at the same place. He was born September 17, 1938 at Washburn, IL to Earl and Josephine (Ulrich) Unzicker and was married to Arleta Unzicker, who survives.

Surviving are two sons, Timothy (Dawn); and Antony (Carol), four grandchildren, one brother, Kenneth (Barbara); and two sisters, Carol Prill, and Sharon Visser.
